Anxiety Focused Seminar Kicks Off Wellness Workshops in Santa Barbara
The Journey to Wellness Workshops (JTWW), a community resource that provides psycho-educational seminars, launches its first virtual workshop on September 25, from 9am to 2pm. This is the first of a series that will feature topical experts and community leaders who will inform and empower attendees with resources to facilitate and optimize their personal wellness journey.
These workshops offer timely guidance as people navigate the evolving COVID-19 strains and regulations. According to the CDC, in June 2020 40% of adults reported struggle with mental health or substance abuse. JTWW Founders, Gina and Martin Bell, believe in the power of education to manage these struggles. Gina herself is an educator who has taught at Santa Barbara City College and Antioch University. She created JTWW in order to bring together the myriad of available community and educational resources and create a pathway to manage the stressors that affect so many.
After Gina’s personal experiences with multiple life challenges, she realized that mental health impacts stem beyond just the individual but also to family and friends. The Journey to Wellness Workshops will provide a forum to address not only the individual, but also the people who support them. Gina shares, “The Journey to Wellness Workshops were created from a lifelong dream of mine to make a difference in the lives of people who have gone through similar experiences. The world is facing a mental health crisis that has never been seen before, and it is my goal to use my expertise as well as that of my colleagues to provide relief and education during difficult times.”
The first workshop, I Feel So Alone In My Anxiety, features Kirsty Kenny, AMFT and yoga instructor, Holly Rushing. This event will be held virtually on September 25, from 9:00a to 2:00pm. To register, visit https://thejourneytowellnessworkshops.com/ or call 805.721.6540 for more information.
